The area under study

Here is the map of Asia and the Pacific as defined by the network. These areas are divided in two ways:

  • countries or geo-cultural areas
    • For example, Kashmir is not a country, it is a geo-cultural area shared by India and Pakistan.
  • sub-regions

A sub-region can encompass several countries or geo-cultural areas based on historical, political, ethnic, economic or cultural factors, such as South-East Asia, which covers different countries, for example Cambodia, Laos, Indonesia, etc.
