Research on Asia and the Pacific in European countries

In each country, you will find organisations, and in each organisation, its structures (ie laboratories, departments...). A search engine allows to find directly the structures.

It is an ongoing process, some disparities still exist between the presentations of each country.

To find individual presentations of specialists: go to the “Directory” section.

Please note that the English names of the organisations may not be official translations of the original names. In certain cases, they have been translated by the Eurasiane administrators to ensure optimal use of the directory.

The research panorama : what is it?

A panorama of research organisations and structures in Europe

  • working in Social Sciences and Humanities
  • and, ultimately, every scientific discipline
  • on Asia and the Pacific

A work in progress

  • Collective work
  • Feedback welcome

Our objectives

  • A higher visibility of European research
  • To develop Europe-Europe and Europe-Asia/Pacific co-operation
  • To put the member data from the Eurasiane directory in its context

--------------

The purpose of this section is to progressively present the state of the art of the research made on Asia and the Pacific in each Eureopean country (including Russia), allowing a better visibility of the research, and the development of scientific cooperation between the researchers and experts involved.

This presentation is linked to the Eurasiane directory (individual presentation of the network's members). All information comes from the Asia and Pacific Network (members of the network, trainees, associates), and from researchers' papers written for scientific meetings (MedAsia, Eurasiane, etc.).

Each of the “Country” and “Organisation” pages briefly presents the situation and provide a link to the website of the organisation or the laboratory. Longer dated analysis, signed by specialists, can be found in the associated pdf files (section: Sources and links).

is organized in the Research Panorama.

All the data are updated and completed step by step: it is an ongoing process. At a first stage, they will concern only the European studies on Asia and the Pacific in Social Sciences and Humanities, then, they will progressively integrate the Pacific and the research done at the crossroads of social science and hard sciences.

Currently, some disparities still exist between the presentations of each country.

It is of major importance that any change or new data be reported to Eurasiane's webmaster. This tool is made to serve the scientific community in a collaborative way.
